How far apart should glass spigots be?

Edited by: Viewmate All Glass Railing

For 12 mm tempered glass with stainless steel spigots (frameless), the safe spacing is:

Standard Rule (Residential)
- Max spigot on-center distance: 1200 mm (1.2 m)
- Recommended: 800–1000 mm for less deflection and stiffer feel.

Per Glass Panel (12 mm)
- ≤ 1200 mm wide: 2 spigots(one near each edge)
- 1200–1500 mm: 3 spigots(left + middle + right)
- > 1500 mm: Not recommended for single 12 mm tempered glass; use laminated or add posts.

”"

Edge Distance (Critical!)
- Spigot center to glass edge: ~1/4 of panel width
Example: 1200 mm panel → 300 mm from each edge.

Building Code (China JGJ/T 470-2019)
- Max clear span between supports: 1100 mm.
- For high-rise or public areas, reduce spacing to 800–900 mm.

Quick Reference (12 mm Glass)
- Panel width 600 mm → spigots @ 150 mm from edges (600 mm OC)
- Panel width 900 mm → spigots @ 225 mm from edges (900 mm OC)
- Panel width 1200 mm → spigots @ 300 mm from edges (1200 mm OC)
